Grand Paradise Samaná

The hotel is located 90 minutes from the Samana airport and about 20 minutes from the capital of the province. This hotel is located in the province of Las Galeras, north-eastern of the Samana peninsula in the unspoiled and exotic environment. This hotel is located at the tip of the Samana peninsula, only a few minutes walk from the small village of Las Galeras. On the one hand, there is a luxuriant coconut grove and the other a beautiful white sandy beach which merges into the crystalline waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

The beach is protected by a coral reef, an interesting point for people looking for to snorkel or dive. It is also interesting to note that Playa Rincon, often called the most beautiful beach in the Dominican Republic, is a short boat ride from the hotel Grand Paradise Samana.

On the hotel ground, there are three lagoon-style pool with sun loungers, parasols and pool bar with a thatched roof. Among the activities included in the package, there are archery, mini golf, tennis, bicycles (to explore the surrounding countryside), windsurfing, kayaking and sailing. We were surprised by the hotel's mini club which is tastefully decorated with several youth activities. The standard rooms have been recently renovated. If space is a priority, opt for family bungalows with sitting area, mezzanine bedroom and a kitchenette.

We did not stay at this hotel. We were exploring what Samana had to offer for tourists, and we did a detour to visit this hotel offered by tour operators in Canada. We left the morning of the Gran Bahia Principe Cayacoa located in the town of Samana to reach the village of Las Galeras about an hour later. The road is sometimes paved and sometimes on gravel with pot-hen. Las Gelaras is a small village with shops and restaurants located 2 minutes from the hotel.

As is the case in several villages in Samana, there are many French people who are installed and operated shops. At the hotel, the customer bracelets are red and yellow. Note that there are no air-conditioned restaurants in the hotel. We were surprised to meet many of the animation staffs speaking French. This destination is popular for customers living in France. What is surprising in Samaná is that there is no U.S. tour operator. They seem to not have discovered this part of the island yet, although during our stay, there was a small group of American travel agents who visited the facilities of hotels.
