Beaches of Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado (and public beach)

INSERT KEY WORDS HERE INSERT KEY WORDS HERE

Cayo Levantado is a small island in the Bay of Samana. It is divided into two sections, the public beach, accessible to all, with services (restaurant, souvenirs, bars, massage on the beach, etc..) and the private sector of the luxurious hotel Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado.

Cayo Levantado is a paradise island. For this reason, it was chosen for the construction of the hotel. Users of the public beach do not have access to the facilities in the private section of the hotel. Only customers of the Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado have access to all the beaches on the island. To get to Cayo Levantado, you take a transfer by boat. There are two docks on the island to serve both areas of Cayo Levantado.

The Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado has two private beaches of about 130 meters each. The sand is white and fine. The guests seem to better appreciate the western sector. The sea is calm in both places, there is a lifeguard. Opposite to the main beach of the hotel, there is a small island. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to explore everything in snorkeling, but there were some nice fish and bottom creatures.

Dock for hotel guests of the Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado (transfer by boat, 5 mins )

It is possible to pay for a boat ride from the Gran Bahia Principe Cayacoa ($25 for four hrs). Ask the employees at the nautical center. For customers of the Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, there is a lobby and a private dock with services for the transfer by speedboat to the island (about five minutes). We visited the two beaches of Cayo Levantado, the public beach (during the Los Haitises tour that includes a lunch) and the beaches of the hotel during our one-day visit.

Cayo Levantado is also known as Bacardi Island because his palms resemble those in the advertising for Bacardi rum. Because of the popularity of the public beach of this island, hundreds of tourists visit the island every day from cruise passengers.
